If you have direct access, please ftp to ftp.waldorf-gmbh.de login as "anonymous" and enter your email address as password. Q) I have a MAC. How can I extract files from *.gz archives ? A) You need GNU-zip for MAC. If you don't have it, you can download it from most MAC archive sites. Another choice is StuffIt Expander. It handles nearly all common file formats such as *.hqx, *.cpt, *.pkg, *.zip, *.arc, *.gz, *.Z, *.uu and others. Q) I have a Unix box. How can I transfer downloaded sounds to my Atari ? A) You need "mtools" for your unix box. This will allow you to transfer files to and from DOS disks. Sorry, it's not on our ftp site, but you shouldn't have problems to find it on other sites. Q) I cannot transfer uWave multis to/from Galaxy. What shall I do ? A) Galaxy has a very unusual way of transfering multis to and from the uWave. Set the uWave's Device ID to 1. It should work then. It might also be necessary to change the program change mode of the multis to "multi". Q) Will old V1.25 sounds work with V2.0 too ? A) Yes, with one exception: The LFO rate modulation has changed. You might need to re-adjust it. Q) Will new V2.0 sounds work with my V1.25 uWave ? A) Perhaps, but they will probably do not sound as they should. A couple of features are missing in V1.25. End of the Waldorf FAQ. --------------- I am very sure that I have forgotten many important things. Please send contributions to . Thanks, Wolfram
