In G2 factory patch 1-109, "economic choir," there's a technique that I imagine the old hands in this group will find elementary, but which I thought was cute enough to be worth pointing out.

Take a look at the "Nontracking pitch bend" patch. This patch has a long decay. Suppose you play a staccato chord and then move the pitch stick during the decay. Because the pitch stick affects the frequency of the keyboard-tracked oscillator, it also affects the pitch of the decay.

Now look at the "Tracking pitch bend" patch. It adds four modules. The Keyboard and Device modules keep track of what's happening on the keyboard and the pitch stick independentantly. The T&H module passes the pitch stick's motion through only when a key is being held, and holds the previous value otherwise. The mixer applies the pitch bend to the note from the keyboard. Note that keyboard tracking for the oscillator is now off.

When you play this patch, you can bend the pitch of a note or notes, and, so long as you take your hand off the keyboard before releasing the pitch stick, the decay will be at the same pitch as the original notes.

This adds a track-and-hold module so that the pitch doesn't change after you take your hand off the keyboard.

This is the straightforward way of doing it.
